On-camera makeup must read cleanly under studio lights, location sun, LED panels and high-definition capture — without looking chalky, flat or overdone at close range. Kay-Lee plans the finish around the production brief, wardrobe colours, talent skin tones and how long the look must hold between touch-ups.
Call times are treated seriously. Kay-Lee confirms where getting ready happens, how many people are in scope, whether hair and makeup are both required, and how many look changes are booked within the day. For larger casts, Kay-Lee can arrange additional qualified artists when numbers and timing require a team.
Fully qualified and mentored by Cecilia Fourie, Kay-Lee works with professional products from Bobbi Brown, MAC, Estée Lauder, Benefit, NARS, Fenty, Chanel and Kylie Cosmetics. Kay-Lee offers mobile on-camera hair and makeup across Cape Town and surrounds, subject to availability and travel.

Television and studio recordings — Consistent, camera-ready finish for presenters and talent under controlled or mixed lighting. Film and long-form production — Looks planned with continuity and long holding times in mind where the brief requires it. Corporate and brand video — Professional, natural-to-polished glam for interviews, explainers and campaign content. Music videos — Stronger creative direction when the treatment asks for it, with timing planned around outfit changes. Theatre and stage — Definition that reads further than a headshot setup, balanced with what the performer can wear comfortably under lights.

On Brief, On Time, Ready for Roll
Production schedules shift, but the hair and makeup plan should not be vague. Kay-Lee asks for the brief, call time, location area, talent count and any reference images before confirming availability. The clearer the information, the faster a realistic quote and schedule can be returned.
Touch-up expectations should be agreed when you enquire — some bookings cover initial styling only; longer days may need a different arrangement. Kay-Lee will be upfront about what fits within the confirmed window.

What should a production send when booking on-camera hair and makeup?
Share the date, call time, location area, number of talent, services per person, number of looks and any brief or mood references. For ongoing shoots, note whether continuity across days is required.
Can Kay-Lee cover more than one performer or presenter?
Yes, when timing allows. Send accurate headcount and the schedule. Additional qualified artists can be arranged for larger casts.
Is on-camera makeup different from event glam?
Yes. On-camera work is planned for lighting, lenses and holding time — often with a more controlled, HD-conscious finish than a typical evening event look.
Do you travel to set or studio locations in Cape Town?
Yes, subject to availability and travel. Include the getting-ready address or set location and call time when you enquire.
